WELCOME TO PC #14:
THE BACK TO SCHOOL ISSUE

If you want to get laid, go to college. If you want an education, go to the library. - Frank Zappa
It seems that everyone has an opinion about what education is, isn't, and should be.

Maybe that's because everyone has spent some time in a classroom.

On a macro-level, the purpose of education as an institution is hotly debated every election cycle, as is the quality (or perceived lack thereof) of America's schools. On the micro-level, school is the prism through which children are projected into adulthood. We all have stories about school and opinions about education, and we've all been shaped by -- and in turn have the chance to shape -- our schooling in a real and abstract way.
