WELCOME TO PC# 11:
THE WATER ISSUE

Water, water everywhere...

71 percent of the earth's surface is covered in it.

50 to 75 percent of your body is comprised of it.

Water nourishes, cleanses, and brings opportunity for sport. Even if our planet didn't need it to live, the earth without water would produce a cultural desert we would likely not survive.

Would you want to live in a world without Bobby Darin's "Splish Splash"?

Seriously, though. The rain, the sea, the tracks of my tears - all are indebted to a substance that surrounds us as a solid, a liquid, and a gas -- often all at once. Its presence in our lives as a physical and cultural force is so vital that one day (maybe soon) wars may be fought over it.

And it's swimming with stories; bursting with metaphor.
